Join Akronym Brewing at 7AM this Saturday for the 2026 Akron Marathon
This time last year, Akronym Brewing was in the process of reopening and with nothing but a few beers to sell, we decided to open our doors for the morning of the Akron Marathon, and the city showed up! It also helps being located directly next to the marathon’s start line. After last year’s success, and the incredible support we have recieved since then, we have made the easy decision to open early again this year.
Join us downtown this Saturday, September 26th at 7AM for the 2026 Akron Marathon. We’ll have breakfast food specials, award-winning craft beer, coffee from Akron Coffee Roasters, non-alcoholic options, and a free water station set up. We’re located right next to the start line and then course of runners pass right by Akronym’s front door during mile 12, making it the perfect place to grab a seat, get some refreshments and cheer on your runner!
Don’t forget that the Akron Marathon will cause road closures starting Friday night throughout the morning. Avoid street parking downtown on Friday night as the city will tow cars to set up the marathon. Akronym is located in the heart of downtown, so please expect road closures and traffic in the area Saturday morning during the marathon.
We can’t believe it has already been a year since we spontaneously decided to open for last year’s Akron Marathon. Even with only a few beers to sell, the community was overjoyed to see our doors open and to once again be able to enjoy an Akronym beer. It was such a great feeling to be a part of and we can’t wait for the good times we’ll have this Saturday morning!
